Swimming-Cat

April 22, 2020 By rjmorris

Our cat has started swimming in the pool.  The third time I caught her on video.  We thought cats hated water…oh well we learn something every day.

Cornerstones-Keystones-Capstones

June 20, 2019 By rjmorris

Jesus is the Cornerstone of the House of God.  He holds the foundation together and aligns what we build on to keep it straight and strong.  Keystones are stones (leaders) that hold the archway bricks (followers) in place.  Archways are over doors and windows (entries) into the Houses of God. Sometimes keystones are placed over windows and doors with no archway and serve no purpose except decoration.  Some leaders are like that, no purpose just decoration. Capstones are lids that allow nothing to go up or come down.  The spiritual implications are huge.

Suddenly-Something-New

April 8, 2019 By rjmorris

We can go through life repeatedly going down the same path and one day suddenly see something new to us, that has been there all along. Don’t get stuck thinking you have everything figured out. Keep your eyes open and suddenly you will see something new.  Be creative, embrace new ideas.  Creativity is in your DNA.  You were made to be creative.   Artists and writers are not the only ones creative; engineers, attorneys, plumbers, electricians, janitors, and clerks are all creative.

Count-It-All-Joy

March 29, 2019 By rjmorris

We go through awful times. How can we say God loves us when those we love are really hurting.

What’s up with that?  Why am I involved in this?  I don’t understand why a good God would allow this awful thing to happen.  Let me see my part. Show me my heart.  Is pride in there? Have I made judgements?  Am I prejudice?  Am I blind to my own self?  Show me my part, I want to get to the end of this.

Hidden-things

March 25, 2019 By rjmorris

Proverbs 25:2 “It is the glory of God to conceal things.”

Since the beginning jet airplanes and computer chips existed in the earth, we just had to find them.  The most exciting search is to find God.  He hides himself so we can find Him.

Why-Pray?

March 23, 2019 By rjmorris

There are billions of people on this planet with millions of issues. God deals with them all 24/7. So Why pray?

Issues go to God on a giant algorithm ranked in priority. (that’s the way I see it) Fervent prayer by two or more people move issue up the list. We pray for people and ask for God’s attention. One word word from the mighty creator sets people free.

Words-Are-Powerful

March 6, 2019 By rjmorris

The words we speak have enormous power to tear down or to build up.  Children are affected the rest of their lives.  They internalize words like “You will never amount to anything.” or ” That picture you drew was awesome”.  We also speak to ourselves and either curse or build up.  “I can’t sing” or “Good things are happening all around me”.  Also, others are affected by our words whether they hear them or not. “You drive like an idiot, you need a ticket” or “She looks depressed, a great circumstance will change her life today”. Choose your words carefully, your words are powerful.

Decisions

October 9, 2018 By rjmorris

It has been said that a tree is 90% air. When attempting a chip shot does that mean “always play it safe?” Not exactly, but it does mean slow down and make an informed decision. Seek council for big decisions in business and also in life. Wisdom comes from council,  meditation, and Divine intervention.  For important life changing decisions,  increase time and information before you decide. Do not make emotional snap decisions.

Rationalizing-Failure

May 8, 2018 By rjmorris

Make mistakes valuable by using them to climb to new successes.  Never rationalize a failure. Change whatever caused the failure. Leadership is not easy, leadership is hard work.  If someone has to go, don’t delay because time is crucial. The effective members of the team will appreciate hard decisions that move the ball down the field.

Words-Are-Powerful

Words can tear down or build up. For example you can tell a child “You will never amount to anything” or you can say “I see you have an ear for music.” When you see a penny on the sidewalk you can pick it up and say “Money is coming to me today.” Or you […]

Shame-Resistance

If I’m going to be ashamed I’m not going to do it. If I’m going to do it I’m not going to be ashamed.

Climate-Change-Really?

We have a compulsion to simplify the complex. Most people have decided what is true and what is false.  Look at the earth’s average temperature over the past ten years.  Almost flat. Is Climate Change an emergency?
