Old-Person-With-Attitude

December 25, 2013 By rjmorris

attitudeWork on your look.  Don’t go over the top. It will come across as someone trying too hard.  Be yourself but if a new hair style or new clothes make you feel 10 years younger then you got it about right.

Handshake

December 25, 2013 By rjmorris

handshakeTeach children how to shake hands. A firm handshake while looking the person in the eye will pay a lifetime of dividends.  Tell them “No one is impressed when shaking a dead fish. Squeeze just a little and do the shaking.  Look them in the eye and say a nice respectful word and you will improve your chances of getting hired, promoted, or remembered countless times the rest of your life.”

Strange-Thief

December 23, 2013 By rjmorris

thiefSomeone has been breaking into my house and stealing one sock. It’s either stolen in the laundry room or from the dirty clothes hamper. It’s happened several times.  They don’t take anything else but sometimes they hide my keys.

Kindness-and-Generosity

December 21, 2013 By rjmorris

liveKindness and generosity pushes back darkness.

Light dispels darkness.

So, kindness and generosity can be light.

In darkness there is no kindness or generosity.

We can see  when we are kind and generous.

Needing-An-Answer

December 15, 2013 By rjmorris

imagesCAZK32DQTake time today for some hot tea.  While it is steeping you will get your answer.

Life is too short to break a promise.

When you are good to someone, the goodness comes back to you.

Some-Day

December 9, 2013 By rjmorris

Young people will have their DNA modified to grow horns or a tail.

We will be able to grow a third set of teeth.

Factories will be built near large cities to intake smog and output clean air.  The by-product will be valuable chemicals stripped from the air.

Cleaning large volumes of will be a profitable business.

Cleaning large volumes of air will become a profitable business.

My-Boss-Makes-Life-Miserable

December 7, 2013 By rjmorris

“You have a boss that is a taskmaster.

No matter what you do it is never good enough.  You want to quit but haven’t found another job.  Stay there, you will learn more about authority and humility under a difficult boss than under a pleasant one.  You will be a better person and a better boss yourself sooner than you might think.  Change will come suddenly.  Respect authority never under cut or back stab. Work well under authority and you will receive authority. Always make those above look good, they will see it and trust you. Your promotion will come right on time.”

No matter how hard I try it's never good enough.

No matter how hard you try you never get it right.

Woman-Looking-For-An-Answer

December 7, 2013 By rjmorris

“There is a woman with children who needs to make more money. She has been looking for a franchise she can borrow money to buy.  Don’t go down that path.  Take a second job doing something you have always dreamed of.  Work for a person who has been doing it for years even if you have to work for low pay.  There you will find the path you have been looking for.  You will be in a successful business in a year.”

Which way do I go?

Small-Thinking-Will-Starve-A-Business

December 7, 2013 By rjmorris

Be a rainmaker.

Be a rainmaker.

“Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know.”

“There are many rainmakers but only one Rainmaker.”

“You have been trying to get your company to go after some extra business that keeps coming at you but your bosses will not listen.  It’s time to talk to someone you trust to talk about how to go out on your own.”

‘Don’t talk to a “want-a-be” for advice, talk to a “been there and was successful” about it.”

“It takes more than a good idea and hard work to make a new business work.”

Words-Are-Powerful

Words can tear down or build up. For example you can tell a child “You will never amount to anything” or you can say “I see you have an ear for music.” When you see a penny on the sidewalk you can pick it up and say “Money is coming to me today.” Or you […]

Shame-Resistance

If I’m going to be ashamed I’m not going to do it. If I’m going to do it I’m not going to be ashamed.

Climate-Change-Really?

We have a compulsion to simplify the complex. Most people have decided what is true and what is false.  Look at the earth’s average temperature over the past ten years.  Almost flat. Is Climate Change an emergency?
